Grinda – lush bathing paradise

The lush island of Grinda with it's meadows, sandy beaches and smooth bathing rocks is owned by The Archipelago Foundation, so the public is allowed unlimited access to most areas.

Most of the action takes place near the island’s southern dock. Here, for example, you will find the guest harbour, the friendly waterside restaurant known as Framfickan and nearby, the village shop and café selling freshly baked buns, muffins and the traditional Grinda loaf.

High up, with a fantastic view over the sea stands an elegant Jugend villa, which was once the District Judge Santesson’s summer residence. Nowadays known as Grinda Värdshus, it has an award-winning restaurant and comfortable guest rooms. Treat yourself to a delicious lunch or dinner and why not stay overnight at the youth hostel, rent a cottage or pitch your tent at the campsite.
